How it works

A few minutes a day, a new word in three steps

  1. Look, listen and say it with Bobo

Every word card has a picture, a voice, pinyin and an example sentence. Tap the speaker to hear it again; once your child has said it, the next card is ready.

Word card: the big character for hedgehog with its pinyin and an example sentence, while Bobo cheers “great, you said them all”
  2. Play games that make words stick

Memory cards, match-ups, puzzles and more: every game pairs a picture with its name. A wrong answer is never a loss, Bobo simply shows it again; right answers earn stars towards today's small goal.

Memory game: turn over two cards to pair a picture with its name, while Bobo says a wrong answer is not a loss
  3. Parents can see the progress

The parent area shows time this week, total time, levels completed and the day streak, so you can tell at a glance how your child has been learning.

For parents

See where your child is at, in one glance

  • Learning insights

Time this week, total time, levels completed and the day streak show how your child has been learning lately.

  • Three-language mastery

How much of Mandarin, English and Bahasa Melayu has been mastered, shown as a share of the content learned so far.

  • Skills map

Language, maths and logic: see what is solid and what is just starting, and jump straight to “practise”.

  • Healthy screen time

Set a daily learning goal and Bobo celebrates when it is reached and suggests a break; a daily time limit and eye-rest reminders are built in.

The parent area opens only after a small sum is answered, so little fingers do not wander in.

Safety and privacy

An app for children puts privacy first

  • No ads, no tracking

No ads, no advertising identifier, no analytics, tracking or attribution tools. Your child's data is never sold, rented or shared with third parties.

  • Works without signing in

Without signing in, data stays only on this device. Parents can choose to sign in and turn on cloud backup to keep progress when changing phones.

  • Only what is needed

The optional cloud backup holds only the child's nickname, a preset avatar, the age group and progress, stored encrypted. No photos, voice, location or date of birth, and your child never has to type anything.

  • Delete anytime

Remove a child's profile, cloud data or the account in the parent area, or request deletion on the account deletion page.

FAQ

Questions parents ask

What age is it for?

Ages 3–6, in three groups: nursery 3–4, junior 4–5 and senior 5–6. Content unlocks step by step by group: nursery is mostly pictures and sounds, junior and senior add reading and a second language, and senior also has an optional head start on primary-school maths.

Do we need to sign in?

No. Tunas works without signing in, and data stays only on this device. Parents can choose to sign in and turn on cloud backup, so progress comes along to a new phone.

Can we choose which language to learn?

Yes. Pick Mandarin, English or Bahasa Melayu as the learning language, and add a second language if you like. You choose once on first launch and can change it anytime in the parent settings.

What happens when my child gets it wrong?

A wrong answer is never a loss: Bobo simply shows it again. The goal is to learn at their own pace, not to race.

Will my child see ads?

No. Tunas has no ads and no advertising identifier.

How do I open the parent area?

Tap “Parents” at the top right of the home screen and answer a small sum. There you can see learning insights, adjust lessons and settings, and delete data.

How do I delete my child's data?

In “Parents → Settings” you can delete a child's profile, cloud data or the account. You can also skip the app and send the request on the account deletion page.
