叫人 is a kinship term calculator for Chinese families, including the terms used in Malaysia. You select the family relationship (e.g. "father's elder brother") and the app instantly gives you the correct term in Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka, English and Malay, along with cultural notes on usage. You can also make a family poster from your family tree and send it as an image (WhatsApp size) or save a print image (A4/A3 quality).

叫人 是为华人家庭设计的亲属称谓计算器，含马来西亚常用叫法。选择关系（如"父亲的哥哥"），应用立即显示普通话、福建话、粤语、客家话、英语和马来语的称谓，并附上文化使用注释。您还可以用家谱制作家族海报，分享为图片（WhatsApp 尺寸），或保存打印版图片（A4/A3 画质）。

Every term is shown in Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka, English and Malay. Teochew and Hainanese are not supported yet.

每个称谓都提供普通话、福建话、粤语、客家话、英语和马来语版本。目前尚不支持潮州话和海南话。

The calculator works out a chain you build step by step from the keys (father, mother, elder / younger brother and sister, son, daughter, husband, wife), e.g. "father" then "elder brother" gives "伯父". In-law chains and distant relatives work the same way. Where no set term exists it describes the relation instead.

We collect usage events (e.g. app launch, kinship lookups) linked to a random ID stored on your device (pseudonymous: not your name). No account is required, and we do not ask for a phone number or location. Names and relations from a family tree are stored only if you back it up or share it with Family Cloud.

Our app database does not store your IP address (an earlier IP hash stopped being stored on 2026-10-15, and values stored earlier are being removed). The web server's access logs may record IP addresses for security and troubleshooting, for a limited time. All requests pass through Cloudflare, our network provider, which handles IP addresses and may set its own cookies. Our own usage events are stored on our own server in Southeast Asia. When Google ads are shown, Google collects the data listed in the privacy policy (advertising ID, approximate location, device information). 叫人 may show ads served by Google (Google AdMob in the Android app, Google AdSense on the website).

Yes. The Android app's core kinship calculator, reference table and family tree work offline. Your settings and family tree are saved on your phone in localStorage; the tree is uploaded only if you back it up or publish a shared tree with Family Cloud. Photos in the family tree are kept on the device, in the app's own storage in the Android app (for now).

When you are online the app sends usage events and error reports, checks with Google Play when you restore what you got there, and sends the family tree only if you back it up or share it with Family Cloud.

叫人 is an Android app: the Google Play app is coming soon, and this page will say so when it is listed.

Changing phones? In the app, save a backup file (Family tab) or use Me tab → Diagnostics → Export my data, and keep the file somewhere other than the old phone. On the new phone, install 叫人 and import that backup file in the Family tab.

The terms in Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka, English and Malay are based on common usage; the dialect terms follow common Malaysian usage. Kinship terminology varies across regions, generations, and family traditions — especially in dialects.

We provide the most widely accepted terms as a reliable reference, but for formal occasions (weddings, ancestral halls), always defer to your family's specific customs. If you spot an error, please let us know.

称谓基于常见用法，方言称谓以马来西亚常见叫法为准，但因地区、世代和家族传统不同，方言称谓可能存在差异。本应用提供最普遍接受的参考，正式场合请以家族习惯为准。发现错误请告知我们。

Your family tree is kept on your phone, so a lost or reset phone loses it unless you have a copy (see section 5b of the terms). Keep a copy yourself from time to time: save a backup file in the Family tab, or use Me tab → Diagnostics → Export my data, and keep the file somewhere other than the phone; on a new phone, import it in the Family tab.

We also collect crash reports automatically (error message, stack trace, page URL, your random ID and user-agent) to help fix issues proactively. We aim to respond within 3 business days.

Do it yourself in the app, no email needed: open the Me tab → Diagnostics → Delete all my data. It deletes this device's data (family tree, history, settings) and, on our server, the usage events, error reports and interest-test entries of your random ID and a family tree you published. A few records are kept, as the privacy policy explains. Export my data in the same place saves a copy first (see the privacy policy for what the file holds).

To clear only this phone: uninstall the app (or clear its storage in Android Settings). Once the app is gone its random ID is gone too, and what was stored under it can no longer be linked to you.

在应用里自己操作即可，无需发邮件：打开「我」→「诊断数据」→「删除我的全部数据」。它会删除本机数据（家谱、记录、设置），以及我们服务器上您随机 ID 的使用事件、错误报告、兴趣测试记录和您发布的家谱。少数记录会保留，见隐私政策。同一处的「导出我的数据」可以先保存一份副本。只清除这台手机：卸载应用（或在 Android 设置里清除它的存储）；应用删除后其随机 ID 也随之消失，之前存在该 ID 名下的数据再也无法与您对应。
