GlycoLog privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-24
This policy explains what the GlycoLog app does with your information. In short: your health data stays on your phone.
In short
- Your health data stays on your phone and is never uploaded.
- No account, no analytics, no tracking.
- The Android app shows non-personalised ads from Google AdMob.
- We do not sell your data.
What GlycoLog stores, and where
Everything you enter: glucose readings with their date, time and time slot, meal times, measurement context, insulin, medication and notes, HbA1c results, weight and height, and your settings such as the unit, target range, language and theme.
All of it is stored only on your phone, in the app's own storage. It is not uploaded, and we cannot see it.
No account
GlycoLog has no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
No analytics or tracking
The app contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDK, and no tracking pixels.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Android app shows banner ads and, now and then, a full-screen ad from Google AdMob. Because GlycoLog is a health app, it requests only non-personalised ads: they are not chosen from a profile of your interests, and your health records are never passed to AdMob or to anyone else.
Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Google's consent form appears before any ad, and no ads are shown without your consent. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Android settings, under Privacy or Google, then Ads.
Network use
To tell you when a new version is available, the app fetches a small version file from runupbiz.com. The request carries no health data; like any web request, our server sees your IP address and the time. Apart from the ads, the app sends nothing else over the network.
Exports and sharing
When you export an .xlsx or JSON backup, a PDF report or a share card, the file goes only where you choose, through your phone's share sheet. GlycoLog does not receive a copy.
Selling data
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Deleting your data
Settings, then Clear All Data, removes every record at once, and uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. Since we hold no copy, there is nothing else to delete.
Children
GlycoLog is not intended for children under 13.
Not medical advice
GlycoLog helps you record and organise your readings. It does not diagnose or recommend treatment; follow your doctor's advice on medication and care.
